A feast as ever! Can't wait to dive in further. Must say, in regards to sick wives being left by well husbands...grieve, rage, then enjoy the upgrade. I said what I said.

Being single is a major upgrade to someone who's only with you for what you can do. I truly, deeply, madly loved my single years. And plenty of neighbors and friends filled in where a partner would have been supportive.

Another upgrade: being with someone who loves you in your unwellness (and would love you if you suddenly healthed up, too). Yesterday my (very abled) boyfriend and I schlepped my migraine out for a coffee, sat on our camping couch for a few hours in the sunny bird chirps, made Safe Lunch for the 99th time, napped, he tidied up while I rested, went back outside to watch dogs run around the dog park, and then he cut up a bunch of bell peppers for me for future meals. Both of us considered it a great Saturday.

"Most" people won't be into it; that's fine. You don't want "most" people. Just your people.

For sure, it’s better to be single than lonely in a relationship! Chronic illness certainly shrinks the spacing of the pores on our life filters; takes a certain kind of person, as you said, to want to travel alongside it. I’m so glad you’ve met someone who makes you feel loved for the amazing human that you are.

At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist I'd like to suggest a alternate view point regarding Canada's place in the drug trade. The piece basically states canada is the financial headquarters for the north american drug trade. I have no idea if it's true but it's quite indepth and offers an interesting alternate pov. https://www.instagram.com/p/DG4A4SvMGBW/?igsh=MTBndzdycDEyZzJqdw==

Hi! Thanks for reading. I can't speak to whether you're a conspiracy theorist, of course, but the caption references Sam Cooper, who has written a lot about FINTRAC and other issues in Canada, and who just sat down with Laura Loomer to talk. She is most certainly a right wing conspiracy theorist. So that ought to be factored into the contents of your link. I can't speak to the veracity of the claim that Canada is the financial headquarters, other than to say it goes against most of what I've read on the subject. But, I will say that it isn't relevant insofar as Trump's assertions that lots of fentanyl is crossing from Canada into the US — that is blatantly false, and we get more from the US than the other way around. It's also why the fentanyl report presented recently in Congress didn't mention Canada: because the call is coming from outside the Canadian house.

Love the variety here, Jodi -thanks. In this edition, I especially enjoyed the pineapple story. And Jake's image - gorgeous, grand & calming all at once. We all need ways to process the weirdness all around us - I attempted a Don Quixote/Joseph mash-up: https://rajeshachanta.substack.com/p/don-quixote-and-his-dreamcoat
